| Rev'd. Dr. Thomas Coke often called the “Father of Methodist Missions” was born in Wales in 1747. Coke graduated Oxford University and became a Clergyman in the Anglican Church in 1770 at age 23. He arrived at Port-Royal on January 19, 1789. |

| The Methodist Church In The Caribbean And The Americas (MCCA) celebrates forty years as an autonomous conference from May 1967 to May 2007. Formerly, the MCCA was a mission field of the British Conference. The term “ Connexion ” is often used to describe the 8 Districts which formed the new Conference; these districts are: Bahamas, Haiti, Leeward Islands, South Caribbean, Guyana, Panama/Costa Rica, Belize/Honduras and Jamaica.

MYME Jamaica was formed in June 2006 and comprises a group of Methodist young adults ranging from 18 – 39 years of age, who seek to put their faith into action. Members of MYME are also HIV and AIDS Christian Peer Educators who have sought to be a part of the Methodist Church’s response to the epidemic. __ |
