Bishop Everald Galbraith

Rev’d. Everald Galbraith was born in McField, in the parish of Westmoreland. His Christian journey and life was nurtured at Mt. Ward Methodist Church in the Montego Bay/Mt. Ward Circuit. His tertiary education began at Cliff College in Britain and he gained experience as an evangelist in Ireland before continuing his studies at the United Theological College of the West Indies and the University of the West Indies. Having satisfied the requirements of those institutions he was ordained a Minister of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas (MCCA).

He served in the Guyana District of the MCCA from 1986 to 1995. Since 1997 he has been in the Jamaica District. Rev’d Galbraith pursued further studies at Colombia Theological Seminary and later at the Southern Methodist University, Texas, U.S.A. While in the United States he served as Assistant Pastor in planting the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Texas. Rev’d Galbraith believes in evangelism and has preached at and hosted many evangelistic services across the Caribbean. He also lectured a course in evangelism at UTCWI and made presentations at Seminars. He has also preached at Keswick Conventions in Jamaica. He has served the Guyana Council of Churches and the Jamaica Council of Churches both as Vice President and President: Chairman of the Jamaica Ecumenical Mutual Mission and is the current Chairman of the Jamaica Umbrella Group of Churches.

Rev’d Galbraith was appointed President of the Jamaica Methodist District in 2009, a position he still holds. Rev. Galbraith Married to Sherraine and they both had three children, Elroy, Heidi and Janel.   Janel went home to be with the Lords in 2009.
