  2. What a joy it is to celebrate another year of Uncle Claude’s epic life. I marvel at his longevity. He gave of his intellect, his physicality, his heart, his spirit so fully and unwavering when in the fullness of service. He seemed so tireless. Little should I wonder then about his longevity. So I sit back, in my bleacher location, and cheer on this marathon life. With love, elation, and unbounded joy, Happy Birthday, Uncle Claude! To God be the glory for you are still one whose life glorifies God!

  7. From: Rev’d Bosworth Mullings – Superintendent Minister, Coke Circuit, JMD

Happy birthday Rev’d Claude Cadogan. I remember that at my ordination, you batted for me and have been a source of encouragement from my candidature. Denise and I thank God for you and pray that your day will be filled with God’s loving, comforting and joyful presence as you enjoy all the attention given to you by family. Many of your friends and colleagues lament the protective isolation that has been placed on you. But we recognize that the best way to love you is from a distance even as we seek to tell you of our love. As Methodists, we are proud of your example, leadership and legacy and know that you will be an inspiration for generations to come as we try to emulate your faithfulness in ministry. May God continue to bless you with health, peace and loving support from your family. We love you Uncle Claude!

    Dear Uncle Claude:

It is with much joy and satisfaction that I greet you as on this day you celebrate your 106th birthday! What a milestone! Truly, you have been blessed by God to see such a day as this! We all celebrate with you: Natalie, Christian, Denzel, Barbara, Patricia, Andrew, Ms. Lorna Tennyson (who asked especially to be remembered and sends her own special greetings and prayers), Wesley Church, the Wesley Prayer Group and the wider family of Methodism in the Wesley Circuit, including my colleagues in ministry, the Rev. Elswith Clare and the Rev. Andella Moore.

We are all so very proud of you! On Sunday, your name was in the Wesley bulletin, noting your milestone and calling for prayers on your behalf. Indeed, the whole Church joins in sending you heartiest congratulations, greetings, best wishes and prayers for God’s continued blessing.

You have journeyed long and well and the favour of the Lord our God has been upon you. Thanks and praise to God who has kept you and guided you…preserved you and sustained you–all these years!
